Introduction
Welcome to PassNote! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PassNote
mobile application ("App," "Service," or "PassNote") provided by XApp Studio ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using PassNote, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
1.1 Agreement to Terms
By creating an account or using PassNote, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to
be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1.2 Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via:
- In-app notification
- Email to your registered address
- Update notice on our website
Your continued use of PassNote after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
1.3 Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use PassNote.
By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
2. Description of Service
2.1 What PassNote Does
PassNote is a secure password management application that allows you to:
- Store passwords and sensitive information with end-to-end encryption
- Sync encrypted data across your devices
- Generate strong, random passwords
- Organize passwords by categories and types
- Search and manage your password vault
2.2 Encryption and Security
- End-to-End Encryption: All sensitive data is encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM
encryption before being stored on our servers
- Zero-Knowledge Architecture: We do not have access to your encryption key and cannot
decrypt your data
- User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for creating, remembering, and protecting
your encryption key
2.3 Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service, but we do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- That the Service will be available at all times
- That all features will work on all devices or operating systems
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
- You must create an account using Google Sign-In to use PassNote
- You agree to provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account
3.2 Encryption Key
- During setup, you will create an encryption key to secure your data
- You are solely responsible for remembering your encryption key
- We cannot recover your encryption key or data if you forget it
- Loss of your encryption key results in permanent loss of access to your encrypted data
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your encryption key confidential
- Maintaining the security of your device
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
3.4 Account Termination
You may terminate your account at any time through the App's Profile settings. Upon termination:
- All your encrypted data will be permanently deleted from our servers
- Your Firebase Authentication account will be deleted
- Your encryption key will be removed from your device
- This action is irreversible
4. User Responsibilities and Conduct
4.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use PassNote only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
- ❌ Use the Service to store or transmit illegal content
- ❌ Attempt to circumvent security measures or encryption
- ❌ Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- ❌ Use the Service to harm, threaten, or harass others
- ❌ Transmit viruses, malware, or malicious code
- ❌ Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- ❌ Use the Service for any commercial purpose without permission
- ❌ Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- ❌ Impersonate any person or entity
- ❌ Collect or harvest user data without consent
4.2 Data Storage
You agree that:
- You are responsible for the content you store in PassNote
- You will not store illegal, harmful, or offensive content
- You have the right to store the information you enter
- You will back up important data independently
5. Intellectual Property Rights
5.1 Ownership
PassNote, including but not limited to the App's design, code, features, functionality, trademarks, logos,
and documentation, are owned by XApp Studio and protected by intellectual property laws.
5.2 License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install PassNote on your personal devices
- Use PassNote for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Access features as intended by the App
5.3 Restrictions
You may NOT:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of PassNote
- Sell, rent, lease, or sublicense the App
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
- Use PassNote's name or branding without written permission
6. Third-Party Services
6.1 Firebase (Google LLC)
PassNote uses Firebase services for authentication, database, analytics, and crash reporting.
Your use of Firebase services is subject to
Google's Terms of Service.
6.2 Google AdMob
PassNote displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Your interaction with ads is subject to
Google Ads Terms.
6.3 Third-Party Links
PassNote may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content
or practices of third-party sites, any damages caused by third-party services, or privacy policies of
external websites.
7. Advertising
7.1 Ad-Supported Service
PassNote is provided free of charge and is supported by advertisements displayed through Google AdMob.
7.2 Ad Content
- We do not control the content of advertisements displayed
- Ads are served by Google AdMob based on their policies
- We are not responsible for the accuracy of ad content
8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
8.1 "AS IS" Service
PassNote is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
8.2 Data Loss
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Loss of data due to forgotten encryption keys
- Data corruption or loss from device failure
- Loss resulting from unauthorized access to your account
- Any data loss for any reason
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP YOUR ENCRYPTION KEY AND IMPORTANT DATA.
8.3 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Our total liability shall not exceed $10 USD.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PassNote, XApp Studio, and our affiliates from any claims,
liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising from your use or misuse of PassNote, your violation
of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
10.1 Privacy Policy
Your use of PassNote is also governed by our
Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use,
and protect your information.
10.2 Data Security
While we implement industry-standard security measures, including end-to-end AES-256-GCM encryption,
secure data transmission (SSL/TLS), and secure storage on Firebase infrastructure,
we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use PassNote at your own risk.
11. Termination
11.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by using the "Delete Account" feature in the Profile tab
or contacting us.
11.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in
fraudulent or illegal activities, or if we are required to do so by law.
12. Dispute Resolution
12.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws.
12.2 Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
12.3 Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where
prohibited by law.
13. General Provisions
13.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PassNote.

14. Special Provisions for Mobile Applications
14.1 App Store and Google Play
PassNote is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Your use is also subject to:

PassNote requires Android 6.0+ or iOS 12.0+, internet connection for sync (offline mode available),
and sufficient storage space.
14.3 Fees
PassNote is currently free to use and supported by advertising. We reserve the right to introduce
paid features or subscriptions in the future.
15. Important Reminders
🔐 Encryption Key
- You are solely responsible for your encryption key
- We cannot recover your data if you forget your encryption key
- Store your encryption key securely offline (write it down)
- Use the Key Hint feature to help remember (but don't reveal the actual key)
📱 Backup
- Keep your encryption key in a safe place
- Consider writing down critical passwords separately
- Use device backups (iCloud, Google Drive) for the App itself
🛡️ Security
- Enable device security (PIN, fingerprint, face unlock)
- Keep PassNote updated
- Log out from shared devices
- Report security issues immediately
16. Acknowledgment
BY USING PASSNOTE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD,
AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS OF SERVICE.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, YOU MUST NOT USE PASSNOTE.
